We encourage applications for our partner studentships with The Pirbright Institute which support research undertaken under the joint supervision of academics at The Pirbright Institute and the University of Oxford. These studentships may be of particular interest to students with interests in areas such as virology, immunology, pathogen evolution and animal health and welfare.
Candidates for Pirbright studentships should apply directly to the Oxford Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP and state in their application that they wish to be considered for a Pirbright studentship. Their personal statement should include an explanation of their interest in working at The Pirbright Institute.
Students who are awarded Pirbright studentships will have the opportunity to participate fully in the 4-year training programme provided by the DTP, and will have the opportunity to undertake exploratory projects in two research groups before committing to a specific 3-year research project, which will be undertaken under the joint supervision of researchers at The Pirbright Institute and the University of Oxford or Oxford Brookes University. Students also undertake a 12-week professional internship to gain direct experience of the areas of work.
If you wish to apply to one of these studentships please contact us at email@example.com. The deadline for Pirbright studentship applications is 12 noon, Friday 24th January.
