The Oxford Interdisciplinary Bioscience Networking Event 2018

Thursday 3 May 2018

09:00 to 18:00, followed by drinks reception (registration from 09:30 to 10:00)

The Oxford Interdisciplinary Bioscience Networking Event brings together researchers from the seven research organisations involved in the DTP, including the University of Oxford, Oxford Brookes University, The Pirbright Institute, Diamond Light Source, ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, STFC Central Laser Facility and the Research Complex at Harwell, together with researchers from industry and non-academic organisations.

The DTP’s annual networking event is designed to facilitate discussion and interaction across a broad biosciences remit that ranges from fundamental research in molecular, cellular and integrative biology through to applied research in fields such as crop science, biotechnology, diet and nutrition, animal health and welfare, and healthy aging. In addition, the event provides an opportunity to learn more about future plans for graduate training and bioscience research across DTP partner organisations, about research facilities and capabilities available, and about mechanisms for engagement with DTP organisations.

The keynote speakers for the 2018 event will be Prof Sir Edwin Southern FRS, Chair of the Kirkhouse Trust, and Prof Luke Alphey, from The Pirbright Institute.

The event will also include the presentation of the 2018 Bioscience Impact Awards, which recognise BBSRC-funded researchers at the University of Oxford and within the research organisations in the Oxford Interdisciplinary Bioscience Doctoral Training Partnership who have made an impact through their research and other science-related activities. Awards will be given for individual and team achievement in Enterprise and Innovation, Social Impact and Science Communication. To nominate an individual or team for an impact award please download and submit an application form (using the guidance notes) to the to
